Compensation: Based on experience

About the Roles:

Provide radiation therapy services to cancer patients as directed by an authorized user (Radiation Oncology Physician) in accordance with the established standards of the department.

Job Duties:

• Acurately delivers the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy in accordance with the radiation oncologist written directive and maintains legible and accurate records of daily treatment as required.
• Performs radiation simulations procedures and observes patients for unusual reactions and/or events.
• Performs procedures related to physics/dosimetry with and without supervision of the physicist and/or dosimetrist.
• Follows all mandated departmental radiation safety, emergency, and hazardous materials procedures.
• Reports and records equipment deficiencies to the Manager and/or Bio-Medical Engineering.
• Responsible for supervision, instruction and education of students.
• Attends departmental meetings and conferences.
• Assists in nursing related functions as necessary.
• Responsible for coordination of workflow to accommodate quality patient care and patient treatments.

Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 60 days of hire.
• Registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in the Radiation Therapy modality (T).
• JRCERT accredited radiation therapy program graduate.
• Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates ability to work as a team member.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently as needed.
